You do not need the stamp.

You have the EdS. You taught for 20 years. You have four languages. You figured out the website, the design, the video, the audio, the hub, the course, the book, the pin, the whole thing — from scratch, at 11pm, with no one to ask. And you still say “I am not really a teacher.” You still say “I just figured it out.” You still say “anyone could do that.”

And the “anyone could do that” is the lie. Not because it is hard. Because it is specific. It is your specific. Your stumbling. Your falling. Your picking up the pieces. Your 13 years of folders and subfolders and “which one is the real one?” Your 4 hours on a single sentence trying to find the word that carried the right energy. Your 11pm “let me just try this one more thing” that became a whole system.

The “you need a certification in that subject” voice. The “you are not qualified to teach that” voice. The “that is not in the scope and sequence” voice. The “you need to buy the course” voice. The “you need the supervisor’s approval” voice. They are all the same voice. And the same voice is the one that said “you are not a writer” at 2am with the receipt in your hand. And the same voice is the one that said “you are not a teacher” to the parent who was asking for help. And the same voice is the one that said “you do not have anything to show” while the 1000 posts sat in the drawer.

The stamp is not going to come. And you do not need it. The EdS is the stamp. The 20 years is the stamp. The 4 languages is the stamp. The 13 years of figuring it out is the stamp. The thing is: you have been collecting stamps your whole life. And you have been saying “I do not have one.” And you do. You have all of them. They are just not in the shape the “you need the stamp” voice expects.

You do not need to “reclaim your autodidactic freedom.” You do not need to “shape your own educational framework.” You do not need to “step onto your platform with pride.” You just need to stop saying “I am not really a teacher.” You are. You have been. The 20 years says so. The EdS says so. The 4 languages say so. The 13 years of 11pm says so.

And the thing you are building — the book, the course, the pin, the post, the hub, the whole house — it is not a “home business.” It is the teaching. It is the 20 years, in a different shape. In a different room. With a different audience. But it is the teaching. And you are allowed. You were always allowed. The permission was the hiding in disguise. And the hiding is over. And the door is open. And you are in the room. And you are the teacher. And you do not need the stamp.
