🏆CC🧭🔵 | Self-Growth | The Fog Breaks on the First Keystroke Teach Clear, 04/15/201911/06/2026 You are staring at the blank screen. And your mind is doing 50 things at once. The title. The structure. The “should I start with the story or the point.” The “what if I start with the point and it does not land.” The “I should research this first.” The “I should watch one more tutorial.” The “I should organize the folder before I start writing.” The “I should at least outline it.” The “I should at least know what the third paragraph is going to be.” The “I should at least—” And the screen is still blank. And 40 minutes have passed. And you have not typed a single word. And the 50 things are still in your head. And they are louder now. And the “I should at least—” list is longer. And the fog is thicker. And you are more stuck than you were 40 minutes ago. Not the right one. Just one. The fog does not break with a better plan. The fog does not break with a “two-year roadmap.” The fog does not break with “direct, physical action” as a concept. The fog breaks on the first keystroke. Not the right keystroke. Not the first keystroke of the final version. Not the keystroke that “sets the tone.” Just a keystroke. A letter. A word. A sentence that is not good. A sentence that is not the sentence. A sentence that is just… there. On the screen. In the place where the blank was. Type one sentence. Any sentence. “This is about the thing.” “I do not know how to start this.” “The point is that the point is not the point.” “I have been staring at this screen for 40 minutes and I have not typed a word.” Type that one. The one that is true. The one that is small. The one that is not the “opening line” of the “final piece.” Just a sentence. And the fog is one word thinner. And the next sentence is easier. Not because you are a better writer. Because the screen is not blank anymore. And the “the screen is blank” is the heaviest thing in the room. And you just lifted it. One word. And the weight is one word less. The sentence that is not good. You do not need to “close the tutorial windows.” You do not need to “turn off the marketing advice.” You do not need to “focus your vital life force on one solitary task.” You just need to type the sentence. The sentence that is not good. The sentence that you will delete in 10 minutes. The sentence that is the “I do not know how to start this.” And the “I do not know how to start this” is the start. And the start is the thing. And the thing is the fog breaking. And the fog is not a metaphor. The fog is the 50 tabs in your brain. And the first keystroke closes one of them. Not all of them. One. And the next keystroke closes another. And the fog is thinner. And the screen is not blank. And you are not stuck. You are typing. And the typing is the thing. And the thing is enough. 🎧 If you would rather listen to this one, the audio is here.
