🏆CC🧭🔵 | Self-Growth | I Have Done All of These Coach Clear, 01/28/201811/07/2026 The list is never done. That is the thing. Not the goals. Not the smaller steps. Not the distractions. Not the time. Not the reward. The list. The one where every English thing spawns a Spanish twin, every pen name spawns a hub, every hub spawns a board, every board spawns a playlist. The one that is always one item away from done and never is. Five strategies say the list is a procrastination problem. It is not. It is a list problem. And a list problem does not have a strategy. It has a window. One of them. Open one. The goals are clear. The spreadsheet. The 7-week rotation. The Thursday chart. The file. The Short-Term Path. The Wave Structure. All of it is written down. All of it is specific. And the list is still not done. Because a clear goal is the one thing at the end of the list, and the list is infinite, and the one thing is always one thing away. The smaller steps are the job. Twenty years of teaching is smaller steps. The lesson plan. The worksheet. The “here is step one, here is step two.” The book broken into chapters. The chapter broken into a post. The post broken into a pin. The pin broken into a description. The smaller step is the thing that makes the list longer. Every step broken off spawns two more. The smaller step is not the fix. The smaller step is the engine of the 10,000 things. The distractions are gone. The phone is face-down. The tabs are closed. The laptop is open to one thing. And the list is still running. Because the distraction was never the phone. The distraction is the “oh, and the Spanish version.” The “and the pin needs a description.” The “and the video needs a thumbnail.” The list is not a distraction. The list is the work. And the work cannot be eliminated. It can only be done one item at a time, and then stopped. The time is managed. The weekly rhythm. The rotation. The pin drip. The “post first, then the rest.” The days receive the work; they do not dictate it. And the “not being done” feeling is still there. Because being in the shape is not the same as being done. The “not done” is not procrastination. It is the list. And the list is not a time problem. It is an “open one window” problem. The reward is the stopping. Not a treat. Not a celebration. The stopping. The “I did the one thing and I am closing the laptop now.” The kitchen. The coffee. The “the next thing is not for another day.” The body getting the thing it needs. The stillness. The “I am still here.” The five strategies are not wrong. They are just not the thing. The thing is the list. And the list is not going to be done. And that is not a failure. That is the shape of a person who builds and destroys and builds again. And the fix was never a strategy. The fix is the window. One of them. Open it. Close the laptop. Make the coffee. Sit. Do the next one tomorrow. 🎧 If you would rather listen to this one, the audio is here.
